Having lived in Boston for over seven years, I’m all about promoting someone with local connections.  More than that, I’m all about showcasing someone with talent and DJ Domonique absolutely has talent!  Don’t take my word for it, listen to and/or download this hot track below, courtesy of Domonique herself.

DJ Domonique got her start in music, DJing while attending college in London.  Something about the underground electronic music scene just grabbed her and wouldn’t let go.  As the scene enveloped her, Domonique fine tuned her abilities as an artist, performer and producer, incorporating a variety of dance music styles as well as her own unique sound.  Mixing more established styles like drum and bass, breaks and minimal with the newer sounds like fidget and dubstep, DJ Domonique is a young force to be reckoned with and I can’t wait to hear what’s next for her.

Walking Away ft. Armanni Reign & Domonique by Kastle

While production is key in a recorded performance, vocal ability is CRUCIAL and Domonique can sing.  I think vocal skills in this genre of music are often dismissed as secondary.  Many established dance acts feature a pretty lady as the lead singer who can absolutely carry a tune but hidden behind all of the production, there’s nothing left but an airy, breathy vocal that hardly holds up in a live setting.  Domonique offers the perfect blend of vocals and production and in dance music, that’s a rarity.

King Jackal – Babysteps ft. Domonique by djdomonique

In her young career, Domonique has already shared the stage with big names in dance music such as AC Slater, B.Rich, Steve Porter, Ladytron, The Empress, Designer Drugs and many more.  Her vocals have attracted the attention of producers all over the world including Kastle, Bara Brőst (Germany) and King Jackal (Belgium).  During her time in Boston, DJ Domonique found herself with a residency at popular electro night “Circus,” playing many of the largest venues in New England including Rise, Therapy and The Roxy.  What I like more than a talented artist is a talented DRIVEN artist and the fact that Domonique is involved behind the scenes at PH Recordings and True Productions goes to show just how involved she is with the trajectory of her career.  Now residing out West DJ Domonique is hard at work on studio collaborations as well as furthering her own solo ambitions.
