Sometimes, all it takes for a music video to hook me is a toned body. In the case of John Legend‘s video for his Ludacris-assisted “Tonight (Best You Ever Had)“, John Legend‘s toned body was a bonus. While the song starts out slow and steady, it wasn’t long before the sexy beat came in and I was sold. Let me emphasize that it was absolutely the beat that sucked me in and not John Legend sitting on the bed shirtless, singing into the camera. No – it was definitely the beat. I swear to God.
Penned by Legend alongside Allen Arthur, Christopher Bridges, Clayton Reilly, Keith Justice and Miguel Pimentel, “Tonight (Best You Ever Had)” is the latest single to be taken from the Think Like A Man soundtrack. The soundtrack album, released April 10th on Epic Records, features contributions from a variety of R&B talent – past, present and future – including Jennifer Hudson, Ne-Yo & Rick Ross (“Think Like A Man,”), Kelly Rowland (“Need A Reason” – co written by Rowland and singer/songwriter Vanessa Carlton), U.S. X-Factor contestant Marcus Canty (“Won’t Make A Fool Out of You“), Earth, Wind & Fire (“That’s The Way of the World“), Keri Hilson (“Freedom Ride“), Brandon Hines (“Fire” – co-written by Ne-Yo and Justin Timberlake), Luther Vandross (“Never Too Much“) and more! That’s one jam packed soundtrack album!
Think Like A Man was directed by Tim Story (Barbershop, Fantastic Four), a former music video director (India.Arie – “Brown Skin,” N*SYNC – “I Drive Myself Crazy“) and is an adaptation of entertainer Steve Harvey‘s book, Act Like A Lady, Think Like A Man. Due out April 20th through Screen Gems/Rainforest Films, Think Like A Man stars Gabrielle Union, Taraji P. Henson, Morris Chestnut, Michael Ealy and Regina Hall.
