[Review] Anjulie – You And I

    Anjulie You and I
Canadian singer/songwriter Anjulie is BACK with a new Benny Benassi-produced BANGER of a single and I’m kind of obsessed, even though it came out last month.  Taken from her forthcoming, as-yet-untitled sophomore album, “You And I” is the infectious follow up to “Stand Behind The Music,” which peaked at #5 on the Canadian Hot 100 and “Brand New Bitch,” which landed at #16 on the Canadian charts and at #3 on Billboard‘s Hot Dance Club Songs chart.  I’m hoping that the release of this new single means that we can expect a NEW Anjulie album in the coming months, but who knows.  “You And I” was released via Universal Republic Records back on September 11th (iTunes US).

You And I” starts out with a lovely little piano/guitar intro before FINALLY building up to an all-out dance anthem, the likes of which helped Anjulie land four Billboard Hot Dance Club Top 10 hits.  While “You And I” has yet to make it’s Billboard debut, it did manage to peak at #67 on the Canadian Hot 100 chart following it’s release.  With Benny Benassi workin’ behind the scenes on her new single, I’d expect big names on the remix.  So far…nothing.  Anjulie‘s self-titled debut album spawned three Top 10 hits on the U.S. dance charts, including her debut single, “Boom,” (#1), and follow ups “Love Songs” (#8) and “Rain” (#3).
