LA-based singer/songwriter/producer ELOHIM is on a roll with “Pigments,” the new single which premiered last week on Stereogum. “Pigments” is the latest in an ever-growing line of immaculately produced electronic pop tunes from this enigmatic and mysterious artist. Now on my radar forever into the future thanks to her bloody-infectious debut, “She Talks Too Much,” ELOHIM consistently delivers intelligently constructed electronic music, embellished with atmospheric, oftentimes brooding vocal and production effects that, when combined with her bright, hazy vocals—paint a dazzling musical soundscape. “Pigments” serves as the follow-up to last year’s fantastic indie-pop-leaning “Bridge and The Wall.” Both songs available now as a Double A-Side single pressed on limited edition white vinyl (via B3SCI Records).

A classically trained pianist, ELOHIM prefers to stay out of the spotlight and let her music do the talking. After setting the blogosphere alight last year with “She Talks Too Much” (nearly 1 million streams on Spotify!) and its follow-up, the EQUALLY brilliant “Xanax” which saw frequent support from Zane Lowe on Beats 1 Radio, ELOHIM continued on her upward trajectory, collaborating with former Odd Future member Casey Veggies on “All That Gold.” Last year also saw ELOHIM showcase her music live for the first time, playing shows in San Francisco, London, New York and Los Angeles. While no 2016 dates have been announced just yet, I think we can expect a lot more out of this secretive siren in the months to come. In the meantime, listen to “Pigments” below.
