If there’s one thing you can say about Jess Glynne, it’s that she’s consistent—consistently GOOD. Just last week, Jess released “Why Me,” another song off her forthcoming debut album, I Cry When I Laugh, on SoundCloud and ONCE AGAIN it delivers. Unlike previously released singles, “Right Here,” “Hold My Hand” and “Don’t Be So Hard On Yourself,” this one feels different. It’s definitively dance music but of the more mellow variety. Subtle dance beats allow Jess Glynne’s vocals to really shine through, and shine they do! In between the gently pulsating bass lines and percussion, Glynne’s voice breaks through like rays of sunshine through clouds. The song has a distinctive gospel quality, including, what sounds like a choir in the background, which complements the natural grit and soulful dips and peaks in her voice. Check out the just released video for “Why Me” which her friend Jolene Henry put together.
