After seeing Kate Nash live in Boston earlier this Spring, I honestly didn’t know what to think of her anymore. I had such HIGH expectations going into this live show and she really just didn’t deliver. Yes, she was probably medicated after severely injuring her ankle (jumping on a bed)…but that didn’t excuse being clearly wasted. She cursed, she screamed into the mic…she belched. She really was a hot mess. Such a hot mess that we didn’t even stay through to the end of the show. I NEVER leave a show early. Also, I don’t think I’m as big a fan of her new sound as I was of the music off her first album. It was angrier, punkier, louder…not the sweet, soft pop that I came to know and love from Made Of Bricks. That being said, I’d love for her to redeem herself live sometime. Maybe I’ll catch her next time she’s touring Boston?
OK. Now for the point of this whole post. I quite enjoy the new video for her new single “Kiss That Grrrl” off of her new album My Best Friend Is You. It’s fun and flirty and very much in the same vibe as first single “Do-Wah-Doo“. Maybe I like her new album but not her new album live? That’s possible.
