One of my FIRST posts back was about Canadian electro-pop star Kiesza, my first official One To Watch in 2014. I am totally into her 90s sound, her gorgeous vocals and not to mention fierce dance moves. “Giant In My Heart,” her official second single is out August 11th in the UK (via Lokal Legend/Virgin EMI), following her hot-as-fire debut, “Hideaway” which went #1 on the UK Singles Chart and so far has peaked at #9 on Billboard‘s Hot Dance Club Songs Chart. “Giant In My Heart” transports us to Kiesza’s city of inspiration, New York: a multifaceted landscape that truly comes alive at night. As with “Hideaway”, the video features Kiesza’s signature dance moves encapsulating the spirit of legendary NYC clubs like Body & Soul and Libation, but with a contemporary street dance twist.
Love love LOVE this video. 3 fabulous drag queens living it up in NYC. Unlike the (EQUALLY STUNNING) “Hideaway” video, “Giant In My Heart” takes the MAIN focus off of Kiesza herself (though she is featured prominently, as a dancer/singer in the previously aforementioned nightclub), rather choosing to cameras on the clip’s heroine: office drone by day/fabulous drag queen by night.
In addition to touring the world and playing festivals (see Kiesza with SKRILLEX and Diplo at Glastonbury above!), the Berklee College-trained singer, classically trained ballerina & Auburn-haired beauty fronts “legendary Italian fashion house FENDI’s COLOURBLOCK eyewear campaign.
