Jessie Ware Announces Headline Tour Dates; First Single ‘Tough Love’ Out Now

    Jessie Ware - Tough Love

    So many emotions going on right now. SO MANY EMOTIONS. If Jessie Ware‘s announcement from earlier this week is ANY INDICATION, she’s really taking her album (and single!) title seriously, showing her fans some serious ‘TOUGH LOVE.’ The sultry British indie-electropop/soul GODDESS announced a series of “SPECIAL” shows in Europe and North America this Fall. Where does the ‘Tough Love‘ part come in? Well, instead of chucking the tickets up on Ticketmaster and letting jerks buy them up en-masse and sell them for twice the price on StubHub, Ware is making the tickets available via lottery. Register at http://ballot.jessieware.com, choose your city and date, whether you want 1 or 2 tickets.  You have until Monday July 28th at 12:00 (UK time) to enter the ballot.  You will be notified on July 30th via email with a link to buy your tickets.

    Pretty cool if you think about it, right? While I’ll be DEVASTATED if I don’t get an opportunity to buy tickets, I think this is a novel idea that hopefully, other artists pick up on. Check out Jessie Ware‘s Tweet below:

    According to Jessie on her reasoning for doing it this way;

    “If you’d like to come and hear songs from my new album, I’m trying to make it as fair as possible for all fans as the venues are a little smaller than usual, so all the tickets for these shows will only be available via a ballot here on JessieWare.com.”

    Stops included on the forthcoming trek; Amsterdam, Warsaw, Paris, London, Manchester, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Toronto and Brooklyn, NY. The shows will see Jessie playing hits and favs from her stunning debut album, Devotion, as well as debuting tracks from her upcoming sophomore release, Tough Love, including the title track & first single, out now (iTunes). The song was written by Jessie and BenZel (the production duo made up of Two Inch Punch and Benny Blanco) and produced by BenZel.

    No release date yet for the new album, but it is expected out this fall on PMR Records / Friends Keep Secrets / Interscope Records. The album was executive produced by BenZel and features additional production from Dave Okumu, Julio Bashmore and Kid Harpoon (all of whom contributed to Devotion) as well as help from newbies (at least when it comes to working with Jessie Ware) Miguel, Arctic Monkeys producer James Ford, Toronto’s Nineteen85 (Drake) and Ed Sheeran.  So excited for this new era of Jessie Ware!
