Multi-platinum UK singer/songwriter Paloma Faith announced this week a brand new U.S. tour, coinciding with the October 7th release of her new record A Perfect Contradiction. The ten-city tour sees the 33 year-old Faith play a variety of small to mid-size clubs and concert halls throughout the States, kicking off September 26th right here in New York City with a Friday night performance at the prestigious Highline Ballroom. The tour takes Faith right through to the release date of A Perfect Contradiction (Epic Records) on October 7th, concluding October 9th in Seattle at Crocodile Cafe. See a full list of tour dates BELOW and be sure to keep your eyes peeled on her official website for any changes or updates.

To say that I’m excited about Faith’s upcoming tour would be an understatement. I’ve basically been championing this UK superstar since the release of her first album.  After signing with Epic Records in America for the release of her second album; the lush (yet slightly depressing) Fall To Grace, Faith came stateside for a little promotion. I was fortunate to have seen her at not one but two intimate venues – Joe’s Pub and then again at The Knitting Factory in Brooklyn. While the Highline Ballroom is a bit larger, it’s still fairly intimate especially compared to the large-scale venues Paloma is used to commanding across the pond.  I’ll just have to make sure I get there plenty early to claim a good spot. Last time she was here promoting, Faith made the rounds, appearing on The Late Show with David Letterman, The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, Bravo‘s Watch What Happens Live as well as a number of daytime/morning shows. I’m hoping she’ll find some time while in New York and out west to put in a TV appearance here or there.

Released in the UK March 10th, A Perfect Contradiction went on to become Paloma Faith‘s second consecutive No. 2 album on the Official ChartsUK Album Chart.  The album has produced 3 singles to-date, the first being an up-tempo Pharrell collaboration “Can’t Rely On You” which reached No. 10 on the Singles Chart. The album’s follow-up single was the soulfully sung Diane Warren-penned retro power ballad, “Only Love Can Hurt Like This,” currently serving as the album’s first U.S. single. The single has gone on to become Faith’s most successful single to date, both in the UK and internationally, peaking at No. 6 in the UK (besting her previous chart high “Picking Up The Pieces“, No. 7) and topping the ARIA Single Charts in Australia following it’s release down under this summer. The album’s third single, the Steve Robson-produced Motown-influenced “Trouble With My Baby” was released August 12th but has yet to chart. The new record is decidedly more up-tempo overall than her previous release, which was definitely the plan.  According to Faith, calling it’s a “‘if it’s all gone to shit, fuck it, let’s have a dance’ kind of record,” featuring collaborations with Pharrell, John Legend, Raphael Saadiq and others.

Recently named Best British Act at the 2014 Silver Clef Awards and Best UK Solo Artist at the 2014 UK Glamour Awards, Faith already has two double platinum albums in her native UK and with this new tour, she has her sights set on America once again. If you’ve never seen Paloma Faith live before, you’re certainly in for a treat this Fall. Her theatrical performance style and spot on vocals never fail to impress and her retro-inspired fashions are on point. Always backed by a small band (often in matching outfits) Faith’s live set never disappoints.  To get a taste for what we might hear live, check out her ‘Live From LondonSpotify Session right here: http://smarturl.it/PF_SS.
