Oh HEY Paloma Faith. I hear you’re releasing a new single? That’s right, UK fans!  Paloma will release the Eg White co-written “Black & Blue,” as the fourth single from her BRIT-nominated sophomore album, Fall To Grace, March 11th.  Produced by Nelle Hooper and Jake Gosling, “Black & Blue” isn’t my FIRST choice for a new single, but hey! I’ll take what I can get.  After releasing “Just Be” in December, I was hoping the artist and her UK label, Sony/RCA would choose something more up-tempo, like…”Blood, Sweat & Tears” perhaps? Ah well. Maybe there will be some remixes included on the digital EP. A boy can dream!

Given the fact that our girl Paloma is in the midst of a HIGHLY successful and critically acclaimed UK tour (just check out her Instagram for photographic evidence!), I’m betting that the video is going to be a collection of concert footage.  Girl has got to be busy! Not sure when she’d be able to fit in a proper video shoot. Although…she does have only one more gig left this month, tomorrow night in Cambridge.  Perhaps we’ve found her “Black & Blue” video shoot window?

After that, there’s the BRIT Awards on February 20th in London, then there’s rumors that she’ll be jetting back to the U.S.A. in March/April for some more promo on this side of the pond.  After all that, she’s got a string of UK gigs in June and July, including a sold out series of Forest Live shows, performed in various woodland venues throughout the UK.  At any rate, this is all speculation.  I’m just happy she’s still releasing singles!  Check out some of the praise she’s been getting back at home:

“The reflective climax of ‘Black & Blue’ showcased the true theatrical splendour of Madame Faith. Bravo.” – Daily Star

    And this one:

“The star was on superb form…this was all about the voice…the crowd were on their feet / waving their arms in the air. The star ended her set on a high with ‘ Black & Blue’ leaving the crowd baying for more.” – Daily Mirror

To date, Fall To Grace has gone Platinum, with sales fast approaching half a million.  In addition, Paloma Faith has been nominated for TWO BRIT Awards; Best British Female and Best Album. Stay tuned for news and updates on “Black & Blue” and that rumored U.S. trip.  While we’re waiting, listen to this acoustic version of “Black & Blue” and read this great new interview with Paloma over on Music Snobbery.
