If you know me and my musical taste, there’s nothing I like more than a good remix. While you won’t find me dancing in the club, my ears are always open, listening for new dance music. My iPod (which I sadly misplaced) was FILLED with club remixes and I’m always perusing the ‘New Releases’ every Friday for new remixes. So, given my love for a good old dance makeover, I thought it made sense to do a little ‘REMIX ROUNDUP‘ post, spotlighting some new remixes I’m into at the moment. Today’s roundup includes new remixes of songs by John Newman, Wolf Alice and The Golden Hippie. Check em out below!
John Newman feat. Charlie Wilson – Tiring Game (Jean Tonique Remix)
“Tiring Game” is the latest single from English soul-pop sensation John Newman, off his forthcoming sophomore album ‘Revolve‘ (out October 16th via Island Records). The single, which features American R&B legend Charlie Wilson is the follow-up to the album’s lead single, “Come and Get It” which became the twenty-five year old’s third Top 10 UK single when it was released back in July. John Newman seemingly has no problem getting top-notch DJs and remixers to makeover his gritty soul smashes, in the past snagging the likes of Kove, Gemini, Freemasons, Wookie, Disciples, Breakage, Tobtok, not to mention landing featured vocal spots on songs by Rudimental and Calvin Harris. “Tiring Game” sees John paired up with French house producer Jean Tonique for a rousing funk-infused floorfiller. Check it out below and download/stream “Tiring Game” now (iTunes / Spotify).

Wolf Alice – Bros (Nao Remix)
Next up we have an interesting remix of a Wolf Alice song called ‘Bros,’ off the London rockers’ debut album ‘My Love Is Cool‘ (out now via Dirty Hit/RCA Records). The remix, by Nao is part remix, part cover/duet with the soulful singer/songwriter/producer actually adding her own vocals on top of those by Wolf Alice‘s Ellie Rowsell. The result is a delicious electro-infused alt-pop-rock ear worm that NOT ONLY gives me more reason to get into Wolf Alice, but also makes me want to hear more of Nao, a British artist who Pigeons and Planes has named one of ‘the best new artists of 2015.’ Catch Wolf Alice on tour right now in North America and listen to the Nao remix of ‘Bros‘ below.

The Golden Hippie – Dancing Glorious (Bit Error Remix)
Unlike the artists behind the previous two tracks, I’m really not very familiar with LA-based Marissa Jack—AKA The Golden Hippie. Well, that’s all about to change. After listening to this BANGIN‘ remix of her latest track, ‘Dancing Glorious‘ by Montreal-based producer/DJ Bit Error I am sold. The song is featured on The Golden Hippie‘s debut EP, ‘Flowers On The Sun,’ out now via Hundred Handed and includes her breakout debut single, ‘Smoke Signals.’ Prior to releasing her EP, she joined the legendary PRINCE on his Hit and Run tour after being featured on ‘Art Official Cage,’ the lead single off his new album ‘Art Official Age.’ The Bit Error remix is one of 4 included on a new remix EP for the song, sitting alongside remixes by Carkeet, Marc Stout and Riddler. The ‘Dancing Glorious‘ remix EP is available now (iTunes / Spotify) but be sure and check out the Bit Error remix below.
