    Tinted Windows When I first saw this on Perez Hilton, I thought it was April Fools…but no. It was in Billboard too. James Iha (of the Smashing Pumpkins), Taylor Hanson (of Hanson), Adam Schelsinger (Fountains Of Wayne bassist) and Bun E. Carlos (Cheap Trick drummer) have joined

    forces to create Tinted Windows…a new “super-group.”
    According to Billboard, the group has already recorded it’s debut album in a New York studio co-owned by Iha and Schlessinger. The group will make it’s first major live debut March 20th at Billboard’s South by Southwest showcase in Austin, Texas. The album is set to be released sometime in the Spring, according to sources.
    Interesting…I wonder if it’s safe to assume that Hanson, Fountains Of Wayne, etc. will all be putting their other group committments on hold for the time being. We shall see.

      Has anyone seen this band live? I love the Smashing Pumpkins, and agree with the EverHype (www.everhype.com/?utm_source=bc) review that called Melancholy and the Infinite Sadness “Fantastic” and gave it 4.5 stars, and I can appreciate Hanson, but it’s hard for me to imagine these two styles coming together.

    • I’d be interested to hear what their sound is like. Could be good…could be a mess…I guess time will tell. No word yet on a first single.
