U.S. Version of X-Factor to Debut in Fall 2011

    AHHH! Exciting news. Entertainment Weekly‘s Michael Slezak has posted the very first promo for the upcoming U.S. version of X-Factor, the popular UK music reality competition (SLASH American Idol‘s downfall) that has brought us such great artists as Leona Lewis, Alexandra Burke, Diana Vickers, Dolly Rockers, etc. While the promo (which you can see HERE) is short and sweet, my appetite is officially whetted. What about you? American Idol or X-Factor? Who do you want to joining Simon Cowell as a judge on X-Factor?

    • American Idol &gt;&gt;&gt; X Factor.<br /><br />Both are quite phony but American Idol has a better focus on talent, whereas X Factor is far too much about sob stories and drama. Obviously AI is similar, but I think X Factor went too far whereas Idol has a better balance. Plus, look at the talent Idol has produced and then compare it to X Factor. There&#39;s no competition.

    • OK that&#39;s very fair. Both are cheesy but in terms of balance, I really like that X-Factor has more in the way of variety. I like that the boys, girls and groups are separate entities but still competing against one another. I also like that the production value is significantly higher than Idol…granted this is sometimes a cheesy detriment…overall I just enjoy XF more. Maybe the upcoming
